WORD OF WARNING: I ordered a set of greeting cards from FAA and found them to be a miserable excuse for a printing job. Please do not order any greeting cards from this site unless you're willing to put up with off-color reproductions and dreadful lack of detail in anything that requires careful reproduction. I'm testing the print quality now, and if it turns out to be as bad, I'll be removing my profile. In the meantime, I've put a $2,000 price tag on each card, to disabuse people who might think of purchasing them. I return you now to your browsing.
With four decades of photography under my belt, I've been involved with just about all forms of photography. My photos have been published in books, magazines and newspapers, displayed on Web sites from Paris to Tokyo and shown in galleries in New York, Ohio, North Carolina and Virginia. Two museum showings at the Butler Institute of American Art (2004 and 2008) in Youngstown were among the highlights.
I was born in Virginia, schooled in North Carolina and worked in Virginia and Ohio as a journalist. Throughout my working life, I've also produced art photos, even when art photography didn't garner much respect. As a juror for the Carolina Designer Craftsmen Guild in the late 1970s, I was at least partly responsible for their expanded emphasis on the design aspect rather than down-home crafts.
Today, I'm semi-retired and still shooting, producing photos of things that grab my attention, whether it's a beautiful scene or an intriguing architectural statement.
